An Analysis of Google's Zeigist 2012 and how to turn this into a business opportunity.

Introduction

How do google find out what is important? In their own words:

We studied an aggregation of over one trillion searches (or queries) that people typed into Google Search this year. We used data from multiple sources, including Google Trends and internal data tools. We filtered out spam and repeat queries to build lists that best reflect the spirit of 2012.

So what matters most to Ugandans (or did in 2012)?

Ugandans are pretty curious people and what consistently came up in google searches is that they want to know "What is..."

But what in particular are they searching for? Soccer results? Who is Bad Black? Who is Obama?

We have reviewed this information in further detail and summarised it into the 3 top items to give our view on how this can be turned into money making opportunities for the savvy entrepreneur. This is is not information to be ignored. Google information gives key insights into what people are thinking, in the privacy of their homes. This is free market research!

How about our neighbours such as the Kenyans? What do they care about or what do they want to do? It seems one of Kenyans' top search is "How to abort" followed by "How to drift (a car, i.e make it skid around a corner at high speed!)
